Fractal Burned Resin Charcuterie Workshop- Saturday January 13th 1-2:30pm
Fractal burning, Lichtenberg burning or wood fracking refers to a technique where a Lichtenberg figure is burnt into wood using high voltage electricity.
Join us to view the Lichtenberg Burning method performed live by Josh at Respawn Woodworking. (***This is a very dangerous method and should only be completed by trained professionals. If the weather is rainy, this portion of the workshop will not be able to take place, however you are welcome to attend the beginning of a future workshop to catch the performance).
After watching the Fractal Burning process, students will pick out their boards that have been previously burned. All boards will be rectangle and range from 11x13-12x14 and every burn will be different. Instructors will teach you how to mix and color resin. Then you will fill the burned voids with colored resin. Pick one color or pick multiple colors!
Boards will be left to cure, then planed, sanded, and finished with a food grade mineral oil. If you would like a circle cut out in the corner, let your instructor know and it will be completed during the sanding process. Please allow 2 weeks for this process to be completed, at which time you can pick up your board from the studio during a scheduled workshop.
Boards must be hand washed and are food safe for cold food only. They are not meant to be used as a cutting board. Imperfections in the wood will vary.
Ticket Cancellation Policy: This is a special event. We do not issue refunds. You can send someone in your place or try to sell your ticket on the FB event page if you can not attend. No coupons are allowed for this workshop. If a class is cancelled due to inclement weather, Covid-19, or any other uncontrollable circumstance, we will reschedule. If you can not attend the rescheduled date, we will issue you a credit. No refunds will be issued.
