Resin & Crushed Glass Craft Tutorial
Follow these steps to create your beautiful resin and crushed glass design. Take your time and work carefully for the best results.
What You’ll Need
Set your wooden cutout on a level, protected surface in an air-conditioned room. Choose an area away from pets, children, and heavy traffic where the project can remain undisturbed while it cures.
Step 2: Mix the Resin
Pour Part A and Part B into the largest mixing cup.
Be sure to scrape all of the contents out of the smaller containers so the proper amount of each part is included.
Step 3: Stir for 3 Minutes
Slowly stir the resin mixture for 3 full minutes.
As you stir:
Step 4: Load the Syringe
Remove the tip from the syringe and carefully fill the syringe with the thoroughly mixed resin.
Step 5: Fill Each Section
Use the syringe to add resin to each section of the wooden cutout.
Fill each section to just below the surface of the wood. Avoid overfilling.
Step 6: Work Methodically
I recommend starting at the top of the design and working your way across, moving back and forth as you fill each section.
This helps you keep track of which sections have been filled and ensures the entire design receives resin.
Step 7: Clean Up Excess Resin
Don’t worry if you accidentally get a little resin on the wooden portion of the cutout.
Simply use a Q-tip to gently wipe away the excess resin before it cures.
Step 8: Allow to Cure
Leave the project undisturbed for 24 hours to allow the resin to fully cure.
Do not move or handle the piece unnecessarily during this time.
Step 9: Remove the Film Backing
After 24 hours, carefully remove the film backing from the back of the project.
Be very gentle during this step to prevent any glass pieces from coming loose.
If a piece of glass does come off, don’t worry! It can be reattached using a clear-drying glue.
✨ Your Project Is Complete!
Once the backing has been removed and any loose pieces have been secured, your beautiful resin and crushed glass art piece is ready to display!
